 in us to learn about Sudanese stories and Sudanese storytellers. From the 
 Kingdom of Kush to Tayib Saleh\, from poet Obeid Abdul Nur to rapper Dafen
 cii\, this session is about deepening your understanding of Sudanese peopl
 e through the nation's bountiful art and culture. Yassmin Abdel-Magied wil
 l be sharing the unique ways in which Sudanese stories are told\, the myth
 s and characters that have shaped society\, the challenges faced by storyt
 ellers and the power of narrative in creating possibility\, in the past an
 d today.\n\nYassmin Abdel-Magied is a Sudanese author\, screenwriter and a
 ward-winning social advocate.\n\nAn award-winning speaker and globally sou
 ght-after advisor on leadership and organisational strategy\, Yassmin has 
 delivered keynotes and workshops in 25 countries. She founded her first or
 ganisation\, Youth Without Borders\, at the age of 16\, leading it for nin
 e years before co-founding two other organisations focused on serving wome
 n of colour. An anti-oppression facilitator with Fearless Futures and incl
 usion consultant with Global and collective\, Yassmin also regularly educa
 tes and advocates for Sudanese issues on the global stage. She created the
  hub eyesonsudan.net and writes on Sudan for The Guardian\, New Lines\, 
 Slow Factory\, GQ\, Vogue and more\n\nA former mechanical engineer\, Yassm
 in has published five books\, including essay collection Talking About A R
 evolution (PRH\, 2022) and two novels for younger readers\, You Must Be La
 yla (Puffin\, 2020) and the award-winning Listen\, Layla (Puffin\, 2021). 
 She has most recently signed a two book deal with Hachette UK for teen ser
 ies\, The Hidden Legacy and has a forthcoming adult novel. In 2024\, Yassm
 in was selected for the coveted ITV Original Voices placement\, joining th
 e team on acclaimed British Continuing Drama\, Emmerdale.\n\nIn all her wo
 rk\, Yassmin is an advocate for transformative justice and a fairer\, safe
 r world for all.
